GQ 2010

Long Street’s Fork is a path you must take. Chef Jonathan Japha has the ability to pack plenty of flavour into his bite-sized and moreish morsels, all of which are artfully presented.

The venue is an intimate double-storey space (smoking downstairs) with exposed brick walls, copper-banded wooden tables, leather couches and cozy lighting, making it a perfect date spot.

The guys at Fork have mixed King Alfonso’s idea with some European culinary techniques and South African ingredients to whet your appetite. Prices range between R30 and R55 per dish so if, like us, you have a healthy S’African appetite then the bill tends to escalate rather quickly, but considering the ingredients used and the journey that these little dishes take you on, it’s money well spent.

There’s also a new edition, Knife, opening at The Crystal Towers in Century City.
