An establishment that cannot go without a mention in Cape Town's fusion cuisine scene is interactive eating encounter, Fork. The restaurant of Ed Saunders and JD Haasbroek is a retro cool as it comes. All plates of food are contemporary tapas-style, designed for sharing and allow diners to sample several dishes on the menu in one sitting. A playful fusion of global flavours is evident in too many of their dishes to mention, but a few of the highlights include grilled tiger prawns wrapped with pancetta, quail served with butternut and thyme mash, garlic spinach and a beetroot glaze, or a parsley and orange salad with olives, fennel walnuts and a balsamic dressing. Fork is a casual dining with seriously stylish flavours. Dessert won't even cross your mind.
