Fork's atmospheric interior with exposed brickwork caught my eye.
"Tapas is about sharing so we don't serve a single large plate of food", said JD Haasbroek, co-owner of Fork.
Fork has its own slant on the traditionally Mediterranean social food - Kudu with chili potato puree and a citrus reduction being an example of the taste sensations on offer.
"Its proper food done tapas style", said Haasbroek. Dishes range from R25 to R55 and the glass of unoaked Chardonnay I was offered went down smoothly. With snack-like portions, it did, however, take quite a few plates to appease the growling stomach.
